A word from the Secretary General
Welcome...
Dear Delegates,

Hello and welcome! It is my genuine honor to invite you to the 2010 first annual British Columbia Model United Nations. As Secretary-General, I earnestly host the inevitable duties and pleasures of bringing together students from all cultural and academic backgrounds to the single unmatched unity and firm solidarity of our conferences. Through this eclectic gathering of social intelligence and political astuteness, I wish to create for you a diverse and vibrant experience of global awareness and self-fulfillment where diplomacy, negotiation, discussions and debates can be celebrated together with camaraderie, excitement and happiness.

In the previous year, BCMUN was conventionally known as Richmond Highschool Model United Nations. However, with the auspicious congregation of countless new capable and aspiring individuals, our team has undoubtedly evolved into a new plane of authenticity and veneration. With the reinforced determination and dedication, BCMUN aims at creating the flawless masterpiece of UN simulation.

This year, the BCMUN conference will be composed of 3 general committees and 3 special committees, each of which is delicately designed to provide an exquisite platform for thoughts and interactions. Whether you are a veteran who has served in countless intelligent warfare of numerous MUN conferences, or a new comer who has never participated in anything like a MUN, with contemporary world issues ranging from Poverty Alleviation and Inequality for the Economic and Financial Committee and Disease Control for the WHO committee, the BCMUN experience will certainly be a cherished life-time recollection for everyone.

Here at BCMUN, you are sure to make friends and share the common dreams of dazzling hopes and uplifting passion. Through the divergent backgrounds from which you may come, your uniqueness is sure to contribute to the formation of this epic assembly. Together may we unite our dreams, together, we will be heard.
